Betty drove to their house seven months after the couple got married. She used a key that she had stolen from her child to gain entry while they were sleeping and shot and killed the couple.

Linda was dead instantly, but Dan wasn’t, as he struggled for a phone. Betty surrendered after calling her daughter. She did not deny that she pulled the trigger. She said that the murder of the couple was not planned and that her actions were not premeditated.
